Hopefloats did not give me a receipt so I cannot return him to her :emb: By the time I got to the "rat room" from the kitchen to investigation the screaming the fight was breaking up (think I was yelling as I was walking), but of course Throttle was involved and I think Oliver was the poor victim, but Popper and/or Axe could of been too. The boy is definitely in need of a clipping and the vet will be calling me back tomorrow to discuss it. He is even putting his mouth on my hand/fingers and biting down - not biting, but not in a nice way either and he latched onto the webbing between Al's fingers last week.

We will also be discussing a group rate to get the scabs looked at for all 12 boys.

Hopefloats might just find a UPS box on her door step that is moving... :laugh4:

Poor Throttle, he can't handle his hormones. A neuter sounds like the best thing for him. But those scabs, have they been treated for mites?

Brat boy it sounds like. The girl who adopted boys is having a hard time with one too. I had irish done who was a brat but he is a gem now.

Larger scab could be from biting to hard. I would assume since he is being a bugger that is what it is. he is at the age it would show up LOL

Just have him ring the door bell it is getting hot outside LOL make sure to pack him a lunch! that little bugger.

The new vet I was referred to wasn't in so he will be calling me tomorrow. The brat knows he's doing wrong - when we hit the cage or yell at him to stop we get that look like "What? I wasn't doing anything!" "It wasn't me!" "Just ignore the fact you saw me on top of him with his flesh in between my teeth - nope, figment of your imagination.....", but it give the poor victim of the moment a chance to escape. Today's fight seemed to be over food - Really! there is plenty to go around ..... He's such a big boy compared to some of them. I wish he got along with the older ones..

On a happier note, Peanut has been socializing with his brothers lately, even caught him on the bottom of a sleeping rat pile today... :joy:

First of all... you are anthropomorphizing way too much. ;)

When you hit the cage and call out to him, his thoughts are most likely: listen lady, these boys need to learn their manners and respect me as their boss.
But that doesn't mean that you should allow this to go on. Instead of hitting the cage which probably scares the crap out of everyone, can you pull him out and put him in a time out cage?

We have tried the time out cage - he doesn't care. I don't hit the cage hard just enough to break them up. This a.m. he jumped on top of Axe and started humping him. When I opened the cage he went after my hand and left superficial wounds, but they did bleed. About 20 minutes ago Al had to go break up a fight the screaming was quite loud and now Throttle is with us sitting on his shoulder next to Putty cat. Don't think he's quite happy to be by putty, but maybe he will know how his brother's feel around him, but for now he's being a good boy. He was going after Al's hands earlier though - don't know what it is with him and fingers/hands. He can be such a good boy and then just snaps. He's definitely getting a neuter.

Cannot get the darn vet to call me back so I have located two more that look promising - one even has pet rats of her own so I will call tomorrow.

Is he neutered? If so how long ago? How old is he?

Remember he is related to my Irish who did an face bite on Tweek/chimp whoever it was and to daddy hugh who was a jerk.

I think he will be fine after a neuter irish is so far.
