Percy and Quinn were neutered on Wednesday of last week and are doing very well. Since the neuter:
Quinn has calmed down a lot and is making great progress. Last night I had him out on the couch with me while I played solitaire on my phone. I pick him up in a fleece from his cage (he finds it more comforting) and he was running all over me, I pet his back a few times and he groomed some of my hair. Unfortunately, he does not think the floor is made of lava and the last 5 minutes of his out time was spent with the BF holding up the couch with me gentling following him around so I could catch, but not scare him :?
Percy's change has been dramatic. His buck grease is no longer sticking his hair together and he feels like a clean rat again. He ran down off the back of the couch to snuggle with me twice and you can pet his bum without him starting to puff up and sidle around. He's also rubbing less on everything.
Poor Baxter seems to have noticed the lack of testosterone in the air and has come into his own. I think half of it is that he wants to play, but gets too puffy about it. So seeing the difference it has made in the others, and wanting intros to have the best start possible, Baxter is going in next week to get neutered as well For the price it is, I don't see a downside to getting him done and I am sure it will help with the rubbing and nipping.
