Teddy has a hurt knee/leg

Yesterday teddy got in mini scrap with one of his brothers. Today I noticed that he is limping and not putting much weight on his back leg. He still walks on it. When I pick him up he squeaks.
Calling the vet tomorrow to get an appoitment.
I think it might be a sprain.
I put the ladders back in their cage until he heals, so it's easier for him to get around.

Do you have Metacam on hand? He may just need pain meds for a day or two until he heals a bit.

It's likely a sprain, do you have any liquid infant Motrin? That's what I give for sprains.

 

I don't have either, but I called the vet this morining and I'm able to get metacam.

I don't give anything for sprains unless it's severe. He needs to rest it more and within a few days he should be back to normal. If you do see the vet, a light dose of metacam would likely help.

I do usually give them Metacam or childrens medicine if they hurt their legs.

 

Teddy seems to be doing much better today than yesterday so I am going to hold off on giving him metacam, as he dose not seem to be in pain.
