Swollen Nipples

I posted this on GM, but nobody seems to know. On the fourth I noticed Owl's nipples seem sore, or something. They are slightly red, and a bit swollen. They still are swollen and such today.

They almost looked like they are inverted. Are those scabs on the lower ones?

Owls have always seemed inverted, I figured it was normal. There are no scabs. Just a bit red.

Owl is, yes.

those inverted nipples are normal, but she may have cysts or tumours starting up underneath. How old is Owl now?

That looks like mastitis. But that usually occurs only in lactating does.

I wonder what it could be then since she wouldn't be lactating. Hm..

Dogs get false pregnancies and I have heard that can actually start with milk production. I am not sure, I dont see why a rat couldnt get it too. That was the first thing I thought of was that infection momma that are nursing gets other than that I am clueless.
