My Seamus has suddenly decided he doesn't really want roomies. Every 10 minutes or so he picks a fight with someone. He will chase others through the FN from top level to the bottom, and back up again. Sometimes he doesn't leave them alone until I intervine. I've been separating him when I can't watch because I'm afraid he'll hurt one of the others. This started about a week ago, and has gotten steadily worse.

The weird thing is he's about 18months. He's always been kind of cranky, but its been like a "don't touch me" here or there. I just want to make sure that the general consensus is that he is hormonal, and that the cause isn't something else.

18 months is too old for them to become suddenly hormonal. I'd be watching for other neurological symptoms.
Has there been a loss in the cage recently? Have there been any changes to their routine or new pet in the home or anything? Those can cause stress and set a rat off.

I would think neurological as well. I had a boy go berserk like that and he developed full blown PT not long after. Boss was only 21 months.
