Sudden weight gain

Peanut has been on baytril and doxy for over a week for respiratory issues after seeing Dr Munn. Symptoms seem to have resolved.

I noticed she was feeling bigger and when i weighed her she has gone from 278g to 290g in about 10 ten days. She is 17 months, so I would think she is done growing.

She has been getting her meds masked in food, so she is getting a little more human food than typical, but I am using mashed baby food peas and brown rice.

Should I be concerned about this weight gain? I am feeling for lumps and bumps and I don't feel anything yet.

I was wondering about that as my Mishka was a plump lady in her old age. :lol: You met her at Dr Munn last December.

I was worried as the weight gain happened after the URI. Her cage mate and sister is still maintaining a slim 250g. They are both small rats, Dr Munn thought they were under a year at first.

At her age, weight gain is much more appreciated than weight loss.
