Hello, one of my girls, Laiyla, has recently gained a massive tumor. She has been fine for all of her life, she is hitting the 2yr age, and still going strong and full of energy, but around the end of last month (july) she got this tumor, that seemed to balloon in what seems all of a sudden, and it grew to this size in about a week, it went from being un-noticable to a bit smaller then it is now. She doesnt seem to be in any pain, as she still runs up the bars of the cage, sleeps as normal, eats as normal and has kept her plump weight, but im concered as to what to do, the tumor im assuming is way to big to be operated on, as i have had rats that iv gotten tumors removed on that are much smaller, plus she is older. What should i do?! I certainli dont want to just wait till it takes over more and more or explodes.

Its like right above her left leg, and goes from her center on her belly to her side, so even if she is just sitting on all fours, you can see it sticking out her side. Ether or, any suggestions on what to do?

If she's otherwise healthy, no chronic URIs or anything, I'd get it removed. Who knows how much longer she's got in her, she could have a year left but with the tumor only live 6 months. Get it removed now while it's smaller (it doesn't look that big to me), less invasive, and the cost will be less

That's a benign mammary tumour. And I agree if your girl is in good health, I'd have it removed. I've had larger tumours removed on much older rats.
