My rats (males) are only 4 months old and showing signs of respritory issues.

They have always sneezed every now and then but today I noticed they breathe like they have stuffed up noses.

I have always given them dark chocolate (small, small portions) and sometimes echinachea (if thats how you spell it...). Garlic is another thing i've tried. :emb:

They have never visited a vet because my MOM thinks its not nessesary unless of an emergency (I am a teenager so I don't have much say, go figure).

Please tell me any effective, TESTED home remedies? I have researched and tried what seems like everything! Please help!!!!

Thanks in advance

Home remedies rarely work with rats. They can get sick and go down hill fast. Are they making noises when they breath? What are you hearing? Generally any noise needs a vet for a round of antibiotics

You are asking an impossible question. Rats need vets. There's no getting around that. I wish we could help you but the bottom line is if your pet is sick, he should get medical vet attention. You could mention to your mom that it is actually illegal and a chargeable offence not to bring your sick pet to a veterinarian.
