Strange Twitch

So, before Alice and Coco died they were doing this really insistent head twitch. Just, forward and really insistent, like no other rat I've seen until recently. One of the other girls has begun doing it recently and it makes me worry. Could she be sick? She has no other symptoms and when I listen to her chest all I hear is the usual quick heart beat.

It isn't something she does all the time. And if you get her attention, then she stops. Although the last time I did that and she stopped, she decided to climb down and curl up in the bedding in the bottom of the cage, whatever that means.

Ya that is part of hiccups but some people believe it could be a sign of a respiratory infection. Keep a close eye on your little one, if you see anymore symptoms, get her on meds.

All four of my rats do that but only when the first wake up out of a nap or sleep, so it could just be hiccups. But like Jorats said, just keep an eye on them.
