SQ's Toofer Jane: photos of her maloccluded teeth

Toofer did NOT like having these photos taken; she was afraid that her teeth would get trimmed.

Oh my goodness. I've never seen anything like that. Poor baby :sad3:

I'm quite curious. What do you do about that? How does she eat?

SQ has to trim her teeth regularly (she gets her vet to do it when she visits Fredericton). Toofer eats mostly soft foods, including dissolved lab blocks.

Awww thats so sad!! Poor baby...why are his teeth like that? Was he just born like that?

wow! Poor girl, Teeth issues stress me out. I'm glad Franka's haven't gotten that bad. Poor little Jane :hugs:

Right.

The pictures were taken before I trimmed her teeth.
The upper one grows sideways and is very thick.
The lower one is the one that was growing through her tongue when she was rescued last May .... remember ...overnight drive of her and Laurel to NB for emergency surgery the next morning.
That lower tooth is pointed like a spear.
When she was rescued, she had 2 upper teeth but one was worn down and then disappeared. An xray showed it had no root ...

Her eye on the side with the lower tooth has had porphrin since she was rescued.
I also smell that smell around that side of her face ... and that is the side of the neck that presently has a lump.

Anyway, Toofer Jane eats mushy lab blocks, baby cereal, veg and fruit.
She is a happy, friendly active (Liverpool) girl.
Who does not like getting her teeth trimmed.

Well, her teeth have been trimed and she is on chlorpalm for the lump on her neck ...
but her teeth will never improve ...

Thanks for sharing the pictures and the story SQ and Godmother. Atleast she has you to stop that spear-like tooth going through her tongue again. And im sure she loves her soft food.. who wouldnt ^^
I hope the lump on her neck doesn't cause too many problems
