So I don't Hyjack... Hoaders

I was wondering about food hoarders! My boys never hoard their food, ever. Shai was food aggressive, Cas seems to be very grabby with food but I've never had a hoarder before. The senior rank in the house (Dean, Sammy and Stew) are hoarding their blocks like crazy. I put 6 in their bowl a day and by 2pm they are gone. I know they are not eating them. How do you deal with that? Do you keep adding food or do you wait till the next morning to give them their rash'ns? What do you guys do with your rats who love their food so much they hide it from everyone? lol

I go and find all the blocks and bring them back to the bowl. I'll do this a few times a day. But in some cages, I let them hoard, as long as all the rats are allowed in the warehouse, then I don't mind the hoarding so much.

I'll have to add a few and see where they are hiding them and who's getting in on the action. I guess this new food is just "that good" :emb:

I had to intervene on Hazel when she hoarded. She was terrible and would take food away from everyone accept Ruby (her sister and alpha). She would grab it away while the other rats were eating it. It got so bad that Olivia and she got into some arguments about it. So we stepped in and twice a day we would move the block back to the bowl. Eventually it got better. Hazel knew we were absolute alpha so she finally backed off.
