I have recently posted today about my male rat who has, what the vet said as an inner ear infection, I have been give antibiotics which you can see in my other post earlier, as I have said he isnt responding the treatment, I have just checked on him and started to get into tears because now his face has drooped, one side of his top lip is hanging over his teeth and his left eye is slightly shut.... I am panicking and have no idew what to do, im out of funds to take him back to the vet, does anyone have any other ideas what could be wrong with him?

As we said in the others we could use pictures or a video. You can send them to me at [email protected] if you cannot post them. In order for us to see what is happening we need a video or pictures. That sounds like a stroke but I think they usaully have weakness on the limbs on the same side.

Unfortunately the video wont send through email or on here, my tablet is playing silly buggers, I will update you all tomorrow, and get some photos, I have gave him his antibiotics, a bath because at the moment he cant groom himself that well, he keeps falling backwards when on his back legs, he has had some wet puppy food to keep his energy up, and is tucked up in his hammock, thankyou everyone with your help x

If his face is drooping on one side, he is leaning and all the other symptoms you mentioned.. sounds like a textbook case of a stroke or other brain damage if you compare it to humans. Does he have issues with his limbs on that side as well? More difficult to move? How old is he? I don't mean to scare you and I am certainly not an expert! But it was the first thing I thought of when reading your posts. I hope it is just a very nasty ear infection and that it will clear up soon. The muscles in your schoulder and neck are connected, so if your ear is hurting like crazy you might not want to move that front paw too much.
