Scrotal Hematoma After Neuter

My poor Danny has scrotal hematoma according to the Vet. (he made the diagnosis over the phone, but I trust that he's right) I got him to a Vet here to get him on baytril just in case, (as per Dr. Gerena's request) he's already on metacam, and he also suggested warm compresses 3 times daily. Has anyone else ever had a rat with scrotal hematoma after neuter, and how was it resolved? Any complications? Thanks.

If it is a hematoma, it should naturally be reabsorbed by the body, could take a few days.
If it's an abscess, that will take some time too but for both, the meds and compresses will get them back to perfect. :thumbup:

Thanks Jo. I can't help but worry about my little baby. He really doesn't like the warm compresses, but I told him they're for his own good. :wink:

Oh I know... when my two boys recently had their neuters, I kept checking their testicles ever few hours to make sure they were healing right. :giggle:
