Scabs!

I've noticed Olive has small scabs on her back. By small I mean the size of a pencil lead tip on a standard yellow pencil. I'm assuming this is from Schnooks fighting or playing. Both rats are female, although Schnooks does appear to be the dominant rat. Olive doesn't seem to be in pain nor does she avoid Schnooks. (They're cuddling right now!)

Is there any other possible thing aside from biting that could result in these scabs such as mites or.... ?

If you see scabs, always assume mites first. 90% of the time that's what it is. So get them both treated and they will both be happier for it.
