I know rough play is normal, but does it bother you? Do you stop it or ignore it? My B&W(Bella) girl is always on my other girl (Penny) She is a bully! lol. I also would like to know what color Penny looks to all you and know what age anyone thinks they are. I was told prob 3 months. I had written a long post with a ton of questions, but somehow it got eaten and now I am just summing it all up. I just got these girlies today and they are already so curious and friendly!

They are adorable and young. Rough play is normal, they will wrestle and it will sound like one is killing the other one. General rule is no blood no foul.

Yes...they look like they still have their baby fur, so definitely under 8 weeks. If they came from a pet store, pet stores will usually stock babies between 3-6 weeks old. When they're little like this, they're still determining their personalities and learning how to interact. So they'll boss each other around and rough-house a LOT. The "bully" now may not end up being the rat who becomes the more dominant -- I read on RatBehavior.org that oftentimes, the rat who ends up getting pinned most often will grow up to be the alpha (because they have the most experience fighting their way free!)

(if you were curious about the color -- Pearl is the color, merle refers to the fact that there's blotches of darker color inside the fur. sort of like the merle on some breeds of cattle dog, that have grey fur with blotches of color)

They are absolutely adorable! CongRATS and looking forward to getting to see more of them!

I got them all to myself last night after the kids went to bed and let me say I am in LOVE already. They both snuggled up in my shirt and fell asleep on their backs LOL I had to keep making sure they were breathing they looked so squashed LOL.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone

The best rat pictures are with little kiddos enjoying them. I love it. Your ratties are adorable and so are your daughters.
