rough cost of a necropsy?

I will probably have to have Nicole's body sent to PEI's Veterinary College for the autopsy, but I have no idea what to expect. Could anyone give me a ballpark figure? I am hoping that this is affordable, because I really want to know what happened to her.

It can be anywhere from $80 to $300 for a full one. I've always paid about $100 when my vet does them. But when it was sent to Guelph, I paid a bit more but not much more mainly because they were using my rats as a case study.

If you get a gross necro (your vet usually does it) then its not as much, but when they send tissue and samples to the labs it can get pricey.

I would ask your vet first...we had to pay for the little girl up front due to lab fees.

It should be about the same here. I don't know whether they will be doing any lab tests, though.
