I think Scotch may have mites.. he had them over a year ago, and now a bunch of similar little scabbies have started appearing over his face/neck area again. He was at the vet two weeks ago for a URI, and he only had a few scabs at the time -- the vet said they looked like bite wounds, but I'm not as sure. More and more of them are popping up, and I know he doesn't fight THAT much with his cage buddies -- if anything, he is the one doing the power grooming! Revolution worked wonders last time, so I was thinking of trying it again and seeing if the scabs go away.

So my question is.. I have puppy revolution at home (the purple box) -- its for dogs 2.6 kg - 5.0 kg, the tubes are 0.25 mL with 30mg, and the potency is 120 mg/mL. I know you normally use the kitten/cat revolution for rats, which has a much lower potency of 60 mg/mL, but is there any way you can work out a dose for a rat using the dog revolution? Or can you only use the kitten/cat revolution?

I'm a bit low on funds right now, and I don't want to pay for another appointment if I can avoid it, especially when this could have been dealt with at my last appointment :gaah: -- But if puppy revolution doesn't work, I guess I have to go back!

There is no problem using puppy revolution.
The dose for rats is 4 to 8 mg/Ib = 4 to 8 mg/454.5 grams
You would apply 0.05 ml/Ib or 0.05 ml/454.5g of the puppy revolution to the back of each rat's neck.
(This would be a stength of 6 mg/Ib or 6 mg/454.5g)

You need to know how much each rat weighs as they will all need to be treated
Then you can treat each rat, clean cages, throw out or freeze everything wooden, etc

If you let us know the weights, we can figure out the dose per rat.
