The boys are going to the vet on Monday to get weighed. I was wondering if there is a weight range for Revolution dosing so I could get them done in the same day?

Sure but it depends on the Revolution you use. Cat/kitten/puppy is 60 mg/ml and Dog is twice as strong at 120 mg/ml.

Do you have the Revo on you?

OK 1 puppy/kitten tube will work.

using ratguide's recommended 6 mg/kg, it actually works out pretty easy and you might as well round up.

250 gram rat gets .025 cc/ml (give .03)
300 gram rat gets . 03
350 gram rat gets .035 (give .04)
400 gram rat gets .04
450 gram rat gets .045 (give .05)
500 gram rat gets .05

see what I mean? I have used 10 mg/kg and I have heard some vets use more so don't stress too much if they get a little more than they should, much better than not enough and still having buggies. :cheeky:

I still don't fully understand the cc's but I'm sure the vet will and it'll make more sense watching them do it LOL
Thank you!!!

Have you ever medicated? A medicating syringe is 1 cc. 1 cc = 1 ml :)

aaah Nope, never done medication myself but that's good LOL

Well, boys went in today and I was quite disappointed and angry. The woman I talked to on the phone said they could weigh them. Well, I get there and all they had was a floor scale in pounds, so wouldn't register them. They got a tube each of the pink Revolution...So more money than I had planned and even asked before hand about. Never going there again!
I wiped them down with unscented baby wipes when we got home, I hope the entire tub won't hurt them..... I asked about splitting the tube up and she said it wouldn't be as effective....
Never again! :redhot:

it won't hurt them but it sure hurt your wallet when 1 tube would've done for all of them...one drop not one tube.

I was angry, but glad knowing it won't hurt them. Never going there again.

Many of use own digital postal scales, weighing accurately to 1 gram.
This allows us to weigh rats for meds, keep track of weight loss or gain prticularily with elderly or ill rats, etc
I have found this to be a valuable investment.

Yes, I'm getting a food scale that can do grams tomorrow. I just didn't have the money for both at the time and since they told me they could weigh them I figured it'd be a smaller scale too.
