So, somehow, my lovely older men ended up covered in scabs (I am jumping to the first assumption of mites) and thanks to my wonderful vet, he gave me 3 doses of revolution for all 5 rats without a checkup on any of them(Which is great, because I didn't expect revo to cost me as much as it did). So they've all been dosed as of around 6pm today(almost 7 hours ago).
Last night when I noticed the scabs, I also noticed Remus had somehow... lost the skin on the outside of his ear? It didn't look TOO bad, I chalked it up to itching. However, just now I've looked and felt him up, his entire ear is nearly missing all the flesh on the outside of it, and it looks very raw and red. Top it off, I can now FEEL the scabs when I touch him. Just yesterday, I couldn't.
If this IS mites, when will I see results from the revolution? What can I do for his ear? Remus has the sharpest nails of them all and he's also the SQUIRMIEST of them all, theres no way I could clip his nails to try and stem his itching if thats what he's done to his ear. How long do I give the revolution before I start assuming this may be something else?
