Red tint to whiskers?

One of my 8 month old girls, Luna, has a red tint that recently (yesterday?) appeared at the base of her whiskers. She is acting PERFECTLY normal, and it does not seem to be effecting her whatsoever, but I am paranoid anytime anything changes about them that is new to me. I know it is not blood (no cuts or wounds inside or outsider her mouth).

I thought it might be porphyrin? But was not sure since she has not been sneezing.

Just curious if you guys have seen this before or if it is a matter of concern.

I've seen it before. A small amount is usually nothing to worry about. They clean the porphyrin off themselves and end up wiping it on their whiskers instead :giggle:

I've seen that too. In a white rat they can also have their whole head a pinkish color.
