With Olive and her eye issues I kept saying, "Good thing Nubbies has eyelashes."
Yep STOOPID me.
I spoke to soon.
He has either a hair food or both bothering his eye but not stuck under the eyelid like Olive.
Cutting his whiskers and looking and cleansing his eye is not an easy feat.
Just doing what I can has sent Mr Nubbers into panic mode.
I'm covered in scratches even though I had him wrapped and held by Holly.
I don't want him to end up like Olive.
Shelagh how do you do all that you do without out turning into a stressed out mess?
My rattakisses are going to turn me grey.

See if you can flush his eye with the drops and get whatever it is unstuck...nakies often have issues like this, and as Jo says, they should never have been bred. :(

When I saw this title on your thread, my heart almost stopped.

Long sleeve shirts and even a jacket might save you from some of the scratches. :(

:gaah: I wear all that but not on my hands.
Yes I agree they should have never been bred.
I have had so much more stress with Nubbies and Olive than all my others put together.
Deep breath, here I go again. :thud:
Thanx Shelagh.

So today Shelagh came for a visit to pick up Clemmie.
It was a kiss and squish fest for my rattakisses. :cuddle:
She noticed Nubbies had a lump under his eye. :(
Shelagh thinks it could be a tumour under his eye not debris stuck in his eye. :gaah:
She also found a small abscess she cleaned out.
With sick ratties etc have to admit I haven't spent as much time with the others as I should.
I will NEVER!!get another naked rat.
Too many health issues.
I will keep an eye out and watch for growth and change and Shelagh says she will take him when the time comes.
two weeks ago 17 rats were in my rat room now 12.
2 with Shelagh 3 dead. :sad3:
I hate this part of having rats.
Thanx Shelagh for all your help. :cuddle:

He's really such an adorable little fellow. He's been neutered but still has the nakie buck grease staining, so I gave his back a bath in the sink ..haha. He scratched and squirmed but really was pretty good :D

I have seen debris in eyes before (too many times), and this was too low below the actual eye and felt quite hard. It reminded me of Lilith when she first got that bump above her eye. :sad3:
