Well i got my quote on how much it will be for Nezumi's tumor about #130 and what he said it there is a 70 to 80% to come right back. Well i am wondering is it worth getting it removed? I do not have many funds to do a spay also so im just asking if this part is worth trying? She is a 1 1/2 years old.

Did you ask your vet how lonng she will live with it? Is it causing her pain? 1.5 years is not too old.

No i do not think its causing any pain i do not think its really in the way yet. (it is under her right arm)

I will try getting the money and doing it most likely i just hope i am not too late when i do get it.

I am going to try selling off some hammocks(i just started making some today again) And will post here and usedottawa and such and see what happens.

As long as it's not causing her pain or in the way it should be alright for now, but I would suggest getting it done as soon as you can.

Good luck :)

This is one of the hardest decisions. If the funds are there and she's in good health, I'd probably get it removed. Ideally, I'd get spay but that's not an option right now. No matter what... getting it removed will undoubtedly buy her more time than if you didn't get it removed even if another one does develop.

I generally do get the first lump removed if I can. If it grows back, then you have to decide really is it worth it again. Most of the time, they have grown back with my girls but fingers crossed it might not..

thanks guys. yeah i will try raising the funds to get it removed and if i can not i will keep her comfy till. Most likely i will and can raise the funds i always do somehow ;) But it will take a tiny bit of time to do.

I used to do this but after speaking to Dr. Munn he said it was hard to say if a spay would effective if done after 6 months of age. Does anyone know if there's any peer reviewed research on the topic? I was kind of thinking this would be a really interesting research topic if I go back for my Honour's... I just worry about being able to get data.

I get all my girls spayed, (I rescue) and quite a few have been 18 months to 24 months and otherwise healthy. I've been lucky and never had a mammary tumor in them.
