Just now when I was getting the rats out for playtime, I noticed light green pus coming out of Glooms urethra. I pushed down above it and more came out. I have noticed her lower abdomen bloated recently (though her abdomen is always fat as she is overweight) and have been feeling for more lumps as she recently had an abscess drain by her urethra. That abscess seems to have healed up.

On June 7th I made a thread on Goosemoose worried about Gloom having slight green vaginal discharge. I believe I started her on Baytril for that and some wheezes though very mild. So this has been going on for quite some time. I can't recall if that course of Baytril cleared up the discharge though.

I just started her back on Baytril, should I do anything else for now?

The rats and I can't get a break... :(

Really? Owl just had it. :sad3:
Couldn't be something like abscesses? Since she had an abscess with the exact pus?
Luckily I have almost enough for a spay then. I..sncjknjifrbgt.

That's why you try the antibiotics for a week first and see if it helps.

OK, thank you shelagh. Should I add anything to the Baytril for more aggressive treatment? I do have Amoxi, but not Clavamox.

Or would Flagyl be a better option than Amoxicillin? My vet put Owl on it after her spay when she had Pyometra. Sorry about the questions... :emb:

I'll get her to the vet if it doesn't clear up within a few days since she'd just suggest doing what I am doing now.

Amoxy first as its more broad spectrum.

This is why i spay my girls. They can have so many issues. I hope she has a fast recovery.

Pyometra is dangerous. I'd get her to a vet as soon as you can. Good thing you have some meds on hand to start.
Sending healing vibes!!!

So far there hasn't been anymore discharge! She has been on Baytril and Amoxicillin since I posted this. I still smell infection (not nearly as strong) but it really does seem to be clearing up. At least I hope so. I am keeping a very, very close eye and nose on her.

Hope you did as Jorats said and took her to a vet.
This is very dangerous and she may need a spay.

Glad she seems to be doing better.
