Problems scratching

As some of you know, I have a just over two year old manrat..
The last couple of days(might have been longer, but I noticed it yesterday) he seems to have problems scratching himself, specially the ears..
Are this something I should worry about? He eats and climbs and seem to be doing everything else as normal..

He might be starting hind end degeneration and can't reach his ears with his back legs. I have one like that and I have to clean his ears.

He can sometimes do it sometimes not..

Won't be any more vet bills then..
Unless the bump on his nose is something he needs to see a vet for..
I just was down on my room, and he is able to climb to the top of the cage..
I have put food on water on the bottom level in case I don't notice if/when he can't get to the top anymore..(sometimes he's only on the top level(s) and sometimes he's not at all..)
