Lucine is the 20 month old sister to Prima whom I lost this month. She and her siblings show a lot of signs of massive overbreeding with both her and her brother having micro-eye, a genetic defect.

I have had a funny feeling about Lucine for around a month now, somehow she wasn't "quite right". I saw her acting more blind than she truly is. I saw her almost falling off of things, and tonight I saw a head tilt. She is limp, and weak in her hind end where she slips off of things. She is starting to headbump when you stroke over her head and I saw her bruxxing while wandering around.

I have a feeling my gal has PT...sigh. She got her first dose of dex and baytril tonight and we'll have to see how she responds to it.

Here she is on December 8th, chubby but in fine form.

And a few nights ago
She always gets limp while being stroked but this is a bit much

She seems a bit more alert this morning :D But tonight when she is normally awake is when I will notice the difference and see if its working. My poor Lucine, she was doing the PT pushback last night.

Here is Tikal (RIP) demonstrating.

Labor of love is so true. I go to extreme measures to get the meds down Lilly. I have discovered that baby food is the key and they get a different flavor every time so it is not boring to her. She loved the squash last night and the banana pudding this morning, so, so far my trick is working.

Shelagh I see what you go through, and you just perservere. It's amazing, but I totally know why you do it. It's so worth it to have them even for a short time knowing happiness and love.

Poor girl.

Lucine responded beautifully to the dex/baytril cocktail. She is alert, active and much more able...much happier overall...so I really do think its PT.

I am glad my girl is going to have some more good times, extra spoiling coming now sweetie!!!
