poped abscess someone help

hey everyone i need help autume abscess i think poped or something it was there yesterday but weeping clear no puse. there is a hole there like i would have picked a scab off me. she looks fine eating and drinking and no pain. what do i do? please help.

So she had a lump, then it changed and a scab formed, then it opened up and all this nasty pus came out? Now you just have a cavity? You want to flush it with saline solution (google "Isotonic saline solution" and only use the one with salt and water). Make it up with warm (not hot) water, then using a syringe or something similar, put the tip of the nozzle inside the cavity if possible and flush it out a few times. Do not use ointments as this encourages it to heal on the surface but bacteria coudl easily be trapped underneath and the abscess will recur. Flush rwice a day until you can see it healing towards the surface of the skin. If a scab forms, soften it with warm water, and then gently remove it so you can continue flushing.

1) White rats with pink eyes are called PEW's (pink eyed whites) not albino's, as an albino is genetically different.

2) As for bar chewing, is she young and active? Is her cage big enough? Does she have enough toys and mental stimulation? Does she have a cagemate?

her cage is big enough for 3 females and the is her a autumn in there i have tubes and chewies and a tishu box and things to clime on and a hamic for them there is some things to do but i dont have a lot of money to get stuff so it is slowly saving for things and trying to make somethings for them too. i am open for ideas for there cage.

most of the time yes we do with me being sick it was hard to take them out.

That's good then, and I definitely understand being sick and not feeling like doing anything. Also, how big is her cage? I know you said big enough for 3 females, but I didn't know if you had dimensions or a brand/model.

the cage is 32in(length) 18in (width) 24in (hight) and it has 2 belconys it is a martin cage from the states.

it was my firends cage and she had 3 females in it and they where just fine. no chewing nothing. i think it is just her. snowdrop the one that chews, she dose not like coming out that much if she come out she just hides in my hoodie or under a blanket or pillows. so i do not know it may just be her. and she dose not like coming out with me that much she like my hubby.

autumn is doing great back to her normal i am so happy thanks everyone for the help now time to fix the chewing on the bars no matter if we take her out for a hour each day she is still chewing.

ok my rat autumn has a absess again but this time it is on her jaw i cant get her in to a vet till i get paid next monday what can i do to help.

A very dangerous place to get an abscess.
If it goes deep into her gums or jaw bone it is usually impossible to cure, even with surgery.

She needs to see a vet now before it gets worse.
She needs to be put onto antibiotics immediately.
She may need the vet to clean it out ...

You can try to bring it to a head with a warm compress and hope for the best.
She needs a vet now. She cannot wait until next Monday.

It is a bad spot for an abscess, especially if it's a tooth abscess. If you can see a vet sooner, start warm compresses on it. But antibiotics would be best.

ok thanks i am trying to get her in today and pay latter it has going black around her mouth now i keep doing the worm compress and we shall see what happens i hope she will be ok
