We're taking Pearl into the vet on Friday, hopefully Dr. Dunnett will be able to tell us what else we can do for her. She's only eating soft food and her sides still seem to be sunken in even with having metacam. So maybe there's more wrong with her then we can see. I hope we can nurse her back to health poor girl, she deserves a second chance.

I hope meds will help...she has absolutely no balance. I did find out though that she likes lab blocks soaked in ensure! She ate that up pretty good so that's a good sign...but she's just so skinny. I guess we'll see what the doc says on Friday.

i do find she has more energy day by day.. i so hope meds will help. she is such a sweetie. shes really coming around and starting to trust me little by little. poor girl deserves a second chance.

Pearl has gone down hill very fast today...to the poini where i'll be surprised if she doesn't leave us on her own before fridays vet visit. I don't know if we should try meds when we get to the vet or have her put down. We wanted to give her a second chance and now I feel we're to late....

Pearl looks really dirty in the pictures because she just lays in the baby food in order to eat it. Though today she's stopped eating and is pushing back a lot when we hold her. She doesn't look good at all.

Awww, poor little Pearl's PT is advancing fast. :( If she's refusing food/water/Ensure...then she likely only has about 24 hours or less to live. She should just slip away quietly tonight or tomorrow. I AM sorry. :(

I am very very sorry.......but so happy that you adopted that dear girl so she could feel warth and love before she left. Please give her a kiss and cuddle from me.

Pearl is still with us today but she is refusing to take anything to eat. I can't even force ensure in her mouth because it looks like she has her tongue pressed up against her teeth. Is it possible her tongue could be swollen or she's just pushing it up more then normal?
She's extremely stiff and just tense right up and then sometimes she'll go limp...I wish she'd just pass away so she wouldn't be in pain anymore...It's hard watching her go through this and not being able to do anything about it. I was able to get some metacam into her so hopefully that gave her some relief for pain.

I really don't believe they are in pain with PT. I've talked this over with my vet and she agrees with me. It's like parts of their brain starts to shut down and they are not even aware of it.
I wouldn't force feed her if she doesn't want it. Her body knows it's time to go.
I hope for your sake and hers, she leaves soon and be at peace.
