Patch caught my eye at the pet store when I was looking for yogies. I know, pet store, but it was kinda a sad story...they were under a shelf outta general view, on the floor, and I saw his cute little face stickin out...the girl said they were older and ppl normally buy the babies :( I felt so bad for him. He and his brothers were huddled together and looked like they just needed each other so badly, and I knew I could do that for them. So after a day or two's planning and budgeting, I came back and got them.
The trio are absolutely cute as they could ever be. They steal my heart away on a daily basis. That's why I'm so mean to everyone else, I am heartless... bwa ha ha ha. Patch is the most shy of the 3 brothers. I have to keep an eye on them when I hand out food and stuff, cuz Scooter has gotten in the habit of trying to steal Patch's stuff, and Patch just lets it happen like a wimpy kid. All 3 of the boys are actually a bit smaller than my other rats, they're not dwarf I don't think, but they are kinda small. Patch is sitting in my sweatshirt as I'm writing this, actually, cuddled up against my tummy being so soft and sweet and quiet...quite the opposite of how Scooter is! Patch loves to hide in my shirt, and often even during out time will stay in there.
He has the most absolutely precious little patches on his face and he does know how to use that darling face of his to get what he wants. Normally he is not too needy or anything, but sometimes I will go to put him back in his cage and he'll look up at me like "mommy no I wanna stay in ur shirt a while more" and of course, he always gets his way hehe. Hiding in my shirt is probably one of his favorite things to do. He also loves to give kisses, especially if you put ur hand in his cage or near his little nest he will lick you all over. He's a big hider and sleeper, and is very gentle and loving. A bit timid, but a wonderfully heartwarming companion.
I am eager to see how his personality continues to develop as he grows up with me :) I'm very happy that I was able to allow these 3 brothers a nice place to live together, and not let them be separated or end up having something bad happen to them.
