Monkey seems in a little pain/discomfort.
We don't want to give her Metacam as she has kidney problems, obviously not a good mix. Would Tramadol be best, or Calpol - a children medicine for pain and fever? We thought the childrens med might be easiest on her kidneys.
Thanks.

And she will be seen by the vet the start of the week, or tonight/over weekend if she goes downhill.

"When animals are administered tramadol, adverse reactions can occur. The most common are constipation, upset stomach, decreased heart rate. In case of overdose, mental alteration, pinpoint pupils and seizures may appear. In such case, veterinarians should evaluate the correct treatment for these events. Some contraindications have been noted in treated animals taking certain other drugs. Tramadol should not be co-administered with selegiline or any other psychoactive class of medication such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), tricyclic antidepressants, or monoamine oxidase inhibitors. In animals, tramadol is removed from the body via liver and kidney excretion. Animals suffering from diseases in these systems should be monitored by a veterinarian, as it may be necessary to adjust the dose."

I don't know if I would give her that.

Don't apologise, I appreciate your replies. We think that as there are side affects, looked into it a bit more, Calpol would be the most gentle for her.

Thank you. She is asleep on my chest right now.
I'm not actually sure, it might be the Pyometra - she's had it for months but not been health enough for a spay. It has been controlled by Septrin and she's not had any problems, no discharge after she started on the meds.

It's 7am *gah* and we're away to bed now. She sleeps with me every night, but she decided to use the sheet as a toilet which happens every few nights. Haven't had a chance to wash the second sheet lol so looks like we are sleeping on the waterproof matress cover. She doesn't seem to mind though.

She's done 2 more 'owwie' yawns so I'm quite concerned. If it continues I think a vet might be in order.

I know, it's a shame. I'm suprised she is still here with all she has.

No more owwie yawns today, will watch for them though.
