Davis and Rylee were packed into their carrier this morning and shipped off to the vet with hubby.
Each and every time, I get so anxious until I can call at noon to see how they are doing.
Keep them in your thoughts today please. :)

Pics this morning Rylee...looking at me, what's happening mom?

and Davis, don't give me that look, you know you need this neuter big time!

Jorats, are you still getting over hormonal rats neutered or are you doing all boys?

Just wondering as considering having 6 boys done as seem to be more sensitive to unneutered males.

All the best to your boys,
no matter how good the vet, waiting is hard.

The boys are home!! I called at noon and Rylee was still groggy so I had to wait till 1pm. But they are both doing great, Rylee a little more cautious than Davis. Davis is ready to go play. lol

Here they are in their hospital cage enjoying some Ensure:

SQ, at first I was just going to do the hormonal boys. I did Jorge first and the second day after his neuter he became such a happy boy. But Davis and Rylee quickly took over as bullies. In fact, three times Davis almost bit me hard, but at the last minute, it's like he realized it was my skin and he quickly took his teeth off me. But this just confirms that unaltered boys are so stressed in trying to be boss that a neuter would benefit all of them.
So two down, three more to go.

Also, my vet asked me if I was having all the boys neutered, at first I told her no, only the aggressive ones but she was telling me that a neuter really takes away the stress off the rats, a spay as well. So from now on, all my rats will get altered, this also means, I won't be able to take on the numbers I used to but I've been trying to cut down... rats are quite the addiction. lol

Hahaha... Ann, my vet said the same thing!! I told her no way. I haven't taken in rats in over 5 months. Now that's pretty good for me. lol
I told her that my rats are not dying anymore so it's going to take longer before I can take more in.
