As some of you may know, my 18ish? Month old girl Tilley recently developed malocclusion. It is her lower right tooth that is growing out of control, and is nearly white :( Her lower left tooth broke off. Her top teeth only needed to be trimmed once, with a broken and to the side bottom teeth I'm not sure how but she's kept the top short. Here's the thing, yesterday night I noticed her bottom tooth needs another trimming (I was just at the vet not even a week ago and didn't think to ask to get it trimmed early it was being slow so we were doing monthly until it went back to normal ).

But her other bottom tooth is still broken, and has barely grown at all. When this happened a while back it was barely over the gum, like 1/8 an inch, now it is only 1/4 of an inch and I know rats teeth should be growing more quickly. What could be causing this? We got hit with yet another snowstorm yesterday and today, and my vets nearly an hour away in good weather but I'm going to take whatever appointment they'll give me (I haven't called yet because sometimes they say just head down here and I'm not ready, but I'm calling in a few). I'm really getting worried because I've done a lot of searches and turned up nothing on rats teeth stopping growing :(. All I can think of are horrible things like tooth cancer. She has no abscess or anything.

Edit:
So I got an appointment tomorrow. If there's any particular diagnostic test or whatever I should ask about I'd greatly appreciate the heads up :) TIA.

I had a rat where one tooth broke and didn't grow back. Sure enough, the other one needed trimming. I've only seen it the one time but didn't think much of it. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Well, I got her teeth trimmed. My vet said the tooth not growing back just happens sometimes, while its an inconvenience she sees so signs of anything wrong so to just keep an eye.
