Well, my boy Chorizo is 25 months now. He looked GREAT on his birthday last month...

But now suddenly he's looking really old.

There's nothing wrong with him in particular, but he just seems really old. He's a little grumpy, there seems to be something going on with his manbits, probably a plug I missed because I thought he was doing fine cleaning himself. I think I can get that resolved eventually. He can definitely still pee. His balance is not great (maybe HED?) and it just seems in general he isn't really enjoying being with his cagemates (both 18 month old males, lazy but sprightly).

In short, I don't think Cho will stick around for much longer, and I'd like us to spend the remaining time together. Would it be a good/bad idea to carry him around with me while I go about my day?

Hmmm... you could try. It would be nice bonding, but it could also stress him out. What does your day look like?
If it's loud or lots of running around, it might be an issue. And the balance could make him fall off you. How about you just snuggle in a hammock with him, or take him to sit in your shirt while you watch T.V.?(or read, whatever it is ya do)

If he takes a lot of comfort from you, you should see if you can order or make up a bonding scarf to put him in. I just got one myself from Petunia, and I cannot wait until I have an oldie who is on his fading time and I can keep him with me. :)
