I let my four girls out in a rat proofed room and so far, things have gone great. Once one of them tried to chew a bit of the carpet but it must've tasted bad cuz she never tried again lol
but one of my newer girls, Paige, has decided that the baseboard is tasty and she's been chewing on it randomly.
so far, her chew marks don't look much different from a lot of the "dings" that were in the old wood to begin with, but if she keeps this up, it will be obvious that there's been rat- chewing going on,
so I really need to find a way to discourage her.
she's so fast, she runs by, chews a bit and runs off, so I am guessing I"ll need some sort of barrier?
but it's a LOT of area to cover, I think the room is about 9 by 9, or maybe a bit bigger? that's a lot of baseboards!
and I don't have any idea what to cover it with. My first idea was tape, but then ALL of my girls would be chewing on the baseboards to get the tape off :laugh4:
any suggestions? could I put something bad tasting on them, that wouldn't harm her, and just *what* would taste bad to a rat? (besides medicine, I mean :lol2: )
