Safe to use around rats or no?
The MSDS page: http://www.fsafood.com/msds/vault/000/000815.pdf This is the specific product I am talking about.
We use it at work and it's AMAZING. It can take out ANY smell, ANY. I was wondering if it'd be okay to use when the rats AREN'T in the room, meaning they aren't inhaling it as it's being sprayed. We use it around elderly people (which, I know aren't rats) with no ill effects. We usually spray it towards the floor, but we also clean with it, in combination with an actual cleaner/disenfectant, like Oasis 699543 and Micro Quat. Also, this is a concentrate, meaning it has to be diluted. We usually dilute it at 1:1. If I diluted it at a 1:6 ratio, would that be safe? If it's ingested, you drink a lot of water, and if it gets on your skin, you simply wash. It's not near as "dangerous" as say Lysol or even bleach or something like that. I use it constantly and never feel as if it's too strong or too "much". It DOES leave behind a smell though, but it's very soft and light most people don't notice it. It's main thing is that it removes odor. I wonder if I remove the rats, spray, let it "air" out for an hour or so, and bring them back if that would be okay.
What do you think? My instict says no, but here's to hoping there is something that will help with smell.
