Nina and Hal... 2 operations in 2 days.

I posted about Hals bleeding eye before, the eye filling with blood. Now it's completely cloudy/milky and also fills with fresh blood. Eye drops and antibiotics don't work, and he's always in pain unless we give him pain relief He was booked in to get the eye removed today, but we've had to have Nina go in instead. She had a 'cataract' in one eye for about a month, now the eye has a white discharge, it's watery, and it's starting to be a bit swollen. She has a tumour as well.

The vet is going to remove the dodgy eye and tumour at the same time so very worried about her. She's a tiny girl, her breathing isn't perfect either, but what else can we do? :wallbang:

And then Hal tomorrow, who has *possible* heart problems considering his previous respiratorys and the fact his sisters were diagnosed with heart problems.

Hal is 9 months today and Nina is 8-9 months.... she came from a massive BYB situation, and Hal from a snake breeder situation :sick2:

Nina's tumour and eye have both been removed now. She is very bright.

I'm so glad Nina pulled through and doing great. Good luck for Hal.
That is such a young age for issues... but that's how it is when there's over breeding. Good for you to be doing all you can for these two sweeties.

Hal has had his operation. We'll pick him up tonight. Nina is confused with just one eye but she's left the wound alone.

Hal is home, his wound looks a lot better than Nina. Ninas face is quite puffy and she seems sore.

Aw, glad to hear they made it out alright. Aren't the both a pair...one eyed.

Usually anything surgery/medical related hurts the next day worse than the first. As long as it still looks okay, I'd just give it time.

Had troubles getting Nina to take her meds but she finally has. Hal is acting as if nothing happened - but that's probably as that eye has been causing him pain unless on pain relief for some time now. It's probably a big relief for him.

So glad that they both came through OK. It is very nerve-wracking to wait for eye surgery. Let's hope that Nina feels better tomorrow. It must have been tough for her having two surgeries.
