Ok, so I just figured out how to start my own thread. :emb: I'm kinda not good at tech stuff, give me time.
Ok, so here's my issue. I have a group of three female rats. The Alpha rat is Annie, a very small fancy rat. When we first got her, I saw her in a large group, probably her siblings, and they were all attacking and nipping at her. Nevertheless, she was outgoing and loved being held from the first time I picked her up. She was alone for a few months until I learned that it could cause health problems for a rat to live alone and got her a companion, Templtess.
Tessie is a large, rotund, and incredibly lazy fancy rat with rare moments of gravity defying athleticism and physics defying brilliance. She was bullied a little bit by Annie, at first, but she's such a giant pushover that Annie realized she carried no threat within a week on socializing and took to her. She pretty much lets everyone walk all over her and spends the majority of her time in the bed.
Winky is a young Dumbo rat with a bright personality. She was alone in her cage for a while at the pet store and doesn't seem used to having other rats around, but she wants to make up for lost time. She eagerly approaches the others when put into the play pen and generally sucks up to them both, but it doesn't seem to be working well for her.
Annie is not as violent as she started, thanks to a slow intro and a friend to show her not all other rats are bullies, but she still isn't keen on meeting other rats. When I pet-sat for a friend's rat pack, Annie sat at the side of the cage she could see them through and stared, occasionally lunging at the bars and trying to reach them with her paws. (After seeing this, I moved that cage out of the room) She doesn't attack Winky violently, but she still grabs her and holds her down, spikes up her fur, pushes her, and sidles up to her menacingly. Also, she will slowly open her mouth and mime biting Winky, setting her teeth on her shoulde for instance, without actually biting her. And I know she doesn't want Winky gone anymore, because whenever I take Winky away for too long they both start calling to each other. She didn't bully Tessie like this. Why is she doing this with Winky? :?
