So new boy goes in for his Neuter tomorrow morning! He'll be on the way to healing up and getting ready for intros once Moog has kicked his URI.
Moog's on both Enro (which he loves) and Doxy (which he hates) for his URI, and to help with any possible infection elsewhere.
Also, that 'tumour' has "flattened out and scabbed" according to Allan :joy:
I don't have a picture available right now, but I'd like him to come back into the vets so they can take a proper look at it.

Just a little update!

I was just with the New Boy, and I noticed he has one or two scabs right under his chin, but nowhere else on his body. I saw one when I first got him, and thought it was a bite. I checked him for signs of mites and fleas before I even brought him home, and I didn't see anything scurrying around in his fur. Checked him again and I still don't see anything. What is this?

I highly doubt revolution would interfere with surgery, they could dose him right after or send it home with you to do later if there is some concern. If scabbing has *just* started, and he's not showing signs of lethargy/bloodloss, it's not a super risk. But yeah, Mites are totally microscopic, all you ever see is the scratching and the scabbing...

We're back from the vet! Everything went pretty well!
The girls got checked out and everyone got a clean bill of health!
Moog stayed home today because he's a little stressed from the medicine and compresses already, and with his URI he needs as little stress as possible. He'll be going in for a check-up around the same time the new guy goes in to get checked.
The new boy is still active and inquisitive, but he's resting now. I can't believe how swollen he is still! The vet said it may still look as though he has testicles for a while due to swelling. o.o
In his file they called him "New Guy" and made a whole after-care sheet with it on it multiple times :giggle:
Also, everyone got a dose of revolution, since at my vet they charge per tube, and New Guy certainly had scabs from something nibbling at him.

ETA:
One of the vet techs said a young rat named Molly came in and that the vet had been recommended by a forum member! Whose little one is this? I'm glad you went to Victoria Road! I find they're very good both with prices and care. They also have a very good multiple animal discount which I haven't been able to find the likes of anywhere else.
