We had sweet Shep and Milene neutered/spayed this morning. They did fabulously well. Everyone at the clinic commented how fast the babies woke up and recovered. Milene is already popcorning, trying to play. They are about 5.5 weeks old.

I took pics.

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes. We have 11 more girls going in for spays in the month of April and May. It was so stressful today and it's going to be a stressful next couple of months.

So glad that they are doing well! Your vet does such tidy work. Tonight I will try to take a photo of Bill's incision; until recently I had never looked at the aftermath of a neuter.

I'm so glad they recovered so well. It's good that your vet is able to spey them so young. My vets prefer to wait unti they are at least 200g.

:tumkiss: Get well kises being sent to them.

They look really good!
I'm glad they're doing well, I hope they heal up completely soon with no problems.
11 more to go!?! Oh man, that's a lot of worrying days to come.. At least you can have faith in your vet, you couldn't find better I'm sure.
I wish we could clone her. (I wish you could clone your vet fund too so it was easier on you financially as well as emotionally.)

There's really only 2 types of neuters, scrotal or abdominal. Some vets only do abdominal because of incidence of abscesses from a scrotal neuter.

My vet does a single incision scrotal neuter and I think Jo's does a double incision scrotal neuter?

Well I mentioned Shep and Milene's successful surgeries to my vet and asked if she would consider neutering Goli before her usual 3-4 months and she told me that when I am comfortable with it and his URI is gone we can book him! Thank you Jo and your vet!! Goli will have cagemates sooner than later now

Thanks for clearing that up Shelagh.
That is excellent for your vet to go ahead and try it earlier. Is Goli going to go in with Carina the snake biter?

I think it would be a good fit :) I actually let them meet him on the couch last night since he's an undersized barely 5 weeks old. He looooved it, and they just ignored him and ran him over. LOL. Only when Otto decided to pay a bit too much attention at the end of the 20 mins did I get a bit anxious and pull him out. It was hilarious watching Goli run under 12 week old Carina.

Its a very accepting group and only 7 of them in there, with sweet Shadow on the wane. Otto and Wilbur looove babies so why not!

He's about 90 grams right now and the beige Twins are almost 10 weeks old now...they are about 190 grams and kinda scared of him

Almost a week later, the two are looking fabulous and soooo full of energy. In fact, only a few hours after the procedure, Milene was already running the wheel.

Here's what they look like today:
