How long does it take before boy rats become more docile after their neuter? Does it take a while or does it happen happen right after they loose their balls?

It depends on how old the rat is, the extent of his behaviors, if any of it is learned or if it's all just hormonal.. The general rule of thumb is to give them 2 weeks - which is the amount of time you should keep them separate from females - but that it can take up to a few months.

Rogue became a sweetie almost right away, but it took Pinto a good 3 months. And even then I had to be careful putting my hand into his cage.
