need advice: stop picking at scab

My old girl Skittles has had a small bite-mark scab for some time. It was rather small, but she's continued picking at it, and all around it. And now the area is balding and reddish/irritated looking. It does not look infected.

I suspect it would heal just fine if she'd stop picking away at it.

Has anyone had success with an ointment or spray or ??? that gets their ratties to stop picking at sutures or scabs or similar things?

All ideas/comments/advice welcome!!

I believe my mom had to use bitter apple? for one of her rats so that the other one would stop grooming him. You could try that?
