Nails

I have scratches everywhere from ratty nails. I've tried trimming... not going to happen. What else can I do?

Putting something like a brick or rock in a spot they go often I've heard can help file their nails down.

I've tried trimming my rats nails, but only can do it on the boys. The girls are ridiculously squirmy and theres no way I can get them to sit still. I just try to be careful for now, wear shirts that cover my shoulders when they are out. Pants when they are running on the floor (they like to use my legs as highways)

Ruby and Hazel aren't so bad, but little Lily's nails are sharp. I don't have anything to suggest to you though.

In my experience the brick dosen't do a thing! I have it in front of their water bottles with little or no results. I clip my older boys with a people fingernail clipper but the younger ones are much too wiggly.

I have also given up on nail trimming, except for Emma's "weird" nail... (the one she ripped out and it grew back extra thick)

I just cover up more!

I cut the toes out of a pair of old long socks and slip them over my arms when I have ratties running around on me. I also have a dicky that I can slip over my neck rather than changing my shirt.
