My munsch hurt her nail on the back foot. And it looks like her nail is half off but still on there. She is not in pain, she's tough :) but i don't know what to do I already called tons of vets either they don't see rats or the doc won't be there til the end of the week. What is the best I can do?please help

I've had kids catch their toe nails on something and rip them off. I applied a compress to stop the bleeding and kept everything really tidy to prevent any infections. Puzzle groomed a half torn nail off himself actually. In one instance the toe seemed somewhat irritated so I soaked his foot in some warm water and epsom salt. The next day it was just fine.

Ok good.Thank you I will keep it in mine to soak the toe if it gets worse. It was bleeding bad so I put the toe in some flour to stop the bleeding. Now she seems fine not really being in pain I check it in a lil bit again.

yeah thanks. i ckecked it last night again and the nail was just hanging there on a tiny bit of skin, so i was like it prolly falls of any minute when she is walking around or climing. and then i picked her up and it was gone. should i do something now like put her in some warm water? or something?

we took her to the vet today, cuz it was still really red and swollen a lot. last night i gave them 3 a bath and there was something lil yellow coming of her toe which was really nasty.
so the vet put her on some antibiotics for 2 weeks, which sounds pretty good that should get the redness and the swollen away.
and the antibiotics we can use on the trip too, so they dont get sick, hopefully!! :lol2:
