Hi Gals,
Is it Baytril and Doxy that is a good start to clearing up Myco. Our male rat Carter is noisy in the chest when you put your ear to his chest. Just checking before making appt with vet.

Baytril + doxy or baytril + zithro
If he might have a secondary infection then baytril + clavamox is good

How do you give a rat medicine?

most of the meds that I have given our rats is in a liquid form so I use syringes that I get from the Vets. If you can give it directly from the syringe that is the best but some won't take it that way. The second way would to cover up the taste by putting it with something sweet. Ensure etc. Some of the experts here can give you some more ideas.

Hi Ann, I'd do the baytril with doxy to begin with. Sending healing vibes to sweet Carter!

If the infection is not so bad, vet usually just gives Baytril to start and then a combo after a few weeks if it's not clearing up.

There is no needle. It is just the top part that you suck up the medicine and sqirt it into their mouth.

Carter is going to the vets tomorrow morning for his myco. How long should he be taking the baytril and doxy?

My vet likes to do a recheck in about 3 weeks but they are usually on meds for 1 or 2 months. Good luck with your sweetie.
