She gave me revolution for my rat, and showed me how to do it in her office.

However, she only took out .05 ml of the liquid to put on my rat, and threw out the rest of the bottle!! I just looked at my second bottle that I have for the second dose, and there is .6 ml in there. That's enough for BOTH of my rats!!

I'm guessing she threw it out because she wants me to buy another pack

ugh, i'm so annoyed. she's lucky she has the best price on treating rats because otherwise, i would look for a new vet.

/rant.

oooh that would majorly tick me off, too! did she charge you for both of them? I would definitely call and complain, that's not right!

she may have been thinking that the open container would evaporate before you got home with it, I don't know, but geez, I'd still be ticked off.

Most vets do that unfortunately... Revolution will evaporate within minutes of being opened though, so unless the vet works with smaller animals frequently, they may not have had a container to store the rest in for next time.

It is frustrating especially at the price of meds these days. If there's a next time, you could ask her for the rest of it for a later treatment.

My vet will send me home with however many capped needleless syringe doses he can get out of a single tube. They put then in an opaque bag so the light won't render them ineffective. Maybe your vet just wasn't thinking, or hasn't had enough experience treating smaller animals. I'd say something to her next time you see her.
