I was reading a forum a second ago, how some of the girl ratties smell like grape soda. lol
Well I was wondering..
My girls don't smell that wonderful.
should I wash them? I never have washed them since.......about...4 or 5 months ago.
Maybe even longer.
Well I was just wondering,
I'm kinda sad.
I wanted my girlies to smell like grape soda!

Some rats smell more strongly than others, and some hardly smell at all. It can be pretty faint on some rats, especially immature ones. So, depending on their age, they may grow into it.

I don't recommend baths unless your rats get into something or if they're not keeping up with their own grooming. Bathing them strips them of their natural oils and is generally a stressful procedure for everyone. If you do decide to bathe them, use water only and just work it through their fur. Filling the sink with a few inches of water and holding the top half of your rat tends to be the best procedure.

Thank you, I don't think that they need a bath though, they always are seen grooming themselves, so I'm pretty sure they're doing good.
