My girls update

Hi everyone,
Just an update on my girls, Poppy and Kitty..they have become such a huge part of our family,and have so much fun with us! They are super excited every time we walk into the room they're in, and can't wait to c e out to play. I knew these animals were amazing already, but I have one thing I would change....THEIR LIFE SPAN IS TOO SHORT! Makes me really sad that they can't live at least a few more years than the average. We already become so attached, and they're so smart and wonderful..but I have to say, we love them very very much!!

Yes the short life span sucks. Hopefully some responsible breeders will gradually be able to lengthen it over the coming decades. Laboratories gage us some smart, pet-quality companion rats but certainly did nothing for their longevity.

Just doesn't seem right..they're so responsive and intelligent. We will be a mess in two years :cry5::

They are lovely! And yes, their lifespan is too short. The way I see, it... their short lifespan allowed me to rescue hundreds of rats in need of homes.

Rats with their outlook on life and short lifespans have taught me a lot about living in the present.
But their short life spans are very hard on my heart
