My Girl started to limp since a couple days now, its the same back foot she injured almost a year ago. I live in massachusetts and called around all day to find a Vet, i found 2 who see pet rats, one i already went to but was not happy with it at all. the other one the doctor is really busy and said he really doesnt have time to her, which is totally rude and from talking to him i dont like him.
I know its nothing major with her foot so i was wondering is there something i can give her to help make it better, i see that she is in a little bit of pain but again nothing major. I dont want it to get worse so is there a medicane i can give her which doesnt poison her or something?? Please help me!! AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!

Thank you

What happened when she injured it last year? Was it a sprain? If you think it's a sprain (swollen, rat isn't putting weight on it) you can give infant ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, ect.) but you need to know how much she weighs to figure out the dosage.

It was a sprain the last time the vet gave me some antibiotic and after a week she was all better. its not swollen but she tries not to put weight on it. Ok so if i weigh her i can messure the dosage and give it so her??

Yes, ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory... are you sure she was given an antibiotic before? That would indicate infection. Could it have been Metacam?

To figure out the dosage you will need her weight (preferably in grams) and the concentration of the suspension you buy. It should be 40mg/mL, but it may be different country to country. Make sure you get infant if possible as the children's formula is less concentrated.

i think it was antibiotic and maybe metacam because she fell on her foot and hurt her nail so for that i got the antibiotic and then for her limping the other stuff.
ok so i need infant, can i find it in a normal drug store or somewhere else?

Any drug store will have infant.

It is 40mg/ml for infants in the US too

For the future, depending on where in MA you live if you feel like sharing, I may have a vet recommendation for you.

And lol you may want to update your profile location.
