So this thread is encouraged by my boyfriend's rat's tail getting hurt, but than I realized that I have no idea what to do if my rat gets a cut and I notice it bleeding. Gimli has gotten cuts and scrapes...But they've been all scabbed over before I found them..
So what do you do for open cuts and scrapes?

If it's shallow and just a scrape I generally just leave it. If it's a worse cut, I'll put some pressure on it with a paper towel or tissue. If it's a bad toe nip or tail nip, I might use flour to stop the bleeding, those can bleed forever.

If it's super deep and needs stitches, well then off to the vet!

So I looked at the babies today and Connor some how got this wound on his nose. :cry4: It looks a little painful, but he seems to be ok.

I don't think there's anything the vets can do. Is there anything I can do? Anti-biotic? peroxide? Anything? :(

Kinda hard to tell, but it looks like a scratch of some sorts. Just keep it clean, you can wipe it off with a wet towel and it should be fine.
