Does anyone have any of these cages? I have the small on as a QT/Temp/baby cage, I love it ..small bars and everything :)

Although I do not use the shelve, house, water bottle or tube.
The shelf takes up too much room leaving not enough space for a hammie. The House is ugly and the water bottle is very hard to put on. But it is a great cage because the bar spacing is small!

I have had two of the one-levels over the years. The first one was originally purchased as temporary housing for a wee kitten with a severed growth plate in her hip, who the vet had put on "bedrest" so she could heal (long story). It did not come with shelves or a house, and I tend to think it was marketed as a guinea pig cage. It later served wonderfully as a one story cage when old man Barnaby started having major HED issues. He was in it for a time with his brother, in their old old age, and neither of them seemed to mind no longer having the option of ramps and shelves; they basically just slept and ate all the time anyway.

I currently have the small cage on the left; I also do not use the house, although I've held onto it for possible future use. It has been used as a QT cage, and currently Obie lives alone in it. After many weeks of him ignoring the shelf, I took it out, because it only got in the way of his hammocks and hideouts.

I see the "Kit Tom" stocked in the ferret section of some pet stores. That long tube running top to bottom is more suited to a ferret than a rat, who would likely not be able to get much use out of it. I have never seen the cage on the right before.

Marchioro makes cages that work well for temp quarters, QT and the like, and if you can find a one story with enough floor space I think they make a good house for those rats with HED. I recall our first one being roughly $40 at an independently owned pet store, which I thought was an excellent price for something with floorspace measuring roughly 4 ft x 2ft. I don't know if they make that one any more though.

I have this cage, it was the largest cage we could find at the store when we brought Sam and Dean home. We used it as a temp cage until we could get our Martins from storage. I like it! It got great bar spacing, we love the solid level and the babies really like the tube. We tossed the water bottle first night with it home, its a horrid push button, not a ball and it leaks like crazy. The house is still with Sam and Dean, they won't give it up for the world! Since we brought it home, its been used as a temp cage for Sam and Dean, a singleton cage for Shai, a temp cage for the SPCA girls, a temp cage for Cas, a sick cage for Cas and G'Kar, and lately a home for our two babies. Its being but away once again and we hope not to take it out again for a long while. I really like this cage, but not the $130 price tag on it :giggle:

Cas loved it, first time with levels or a hammock!

lol you can have them if you want!!!!

One of the pet stores here sells them! but other than that I have never seen them before!

My boys fight over the house, I would totally love to have an extra without buying the entire cage! And a second level would make everything so much easier with it. Your serious??
