When they get fixed do they stop producing that buck grease? You can see it on dopey, but tobys skin is very clean. I know when we brought him home you could tell it was on him.
 
They still produce it I believe, but much less. I have a neutered male right now, b ut he doesn't appear to have any... though I expect he is very young. I don't know how old he is exactly.
 
They stop producing the majority of the buck grease, yes. I have some males who were neutered young, and who are over a year now, and they have no buck grease at all.
 
I have 4 neutered males.

One was neutered at 9 months, the other 3 were 13 months old, only one still has buck grease.
 
No purpose, as far as I know, althought Im sure it helps the dominant ones rub their scent all over freshly cleaned cages and whatnot.

Oh god yes! The "whatnot" is you - I've had boys rub themselves all over me before being neutered - ewwwww.
